Lucy Collingridge is a biosecurity officer, world traveller and committed volunteer. She works with Local Land Services, based in Narrabri in northern NSW having completed a Graduate Certificate in Agriculture (Animal Science) in 2018 and in her spare time can be found volunteering at agricultural shows across the state.
Since becoming a Young Farming Champion Lucy has travelled to Argentina (for the IFAMA World Conference & International Case Study Competition), Uruguay (on a study tour) and Canada (on an Agricultural Society’s Council of NSW scholarship to the 2018 Commonwealth Agricultural Conference). She has also been known to jump into arctic waters off Norway.
“As a first generation agriculturalist, I am drawn to PYIA and their programs as it allows me a structured and supportive platform in which I can interact with people who were like me when I was growing up and had no connection to our agricultural industry. The ability to have such a big impact on the lives of so many Australians through this program is a big driver for me in stepping into the Social Media Communication Leader role”
